Position Summary

The copywriter is responsible for copy and concepts in the production of advertising, websites and other communications. Working with the art director(s), the copywriter interprets concepts/copy into completed design. 

Responsibilities

  • Works with art directors to develop ad campaigns and concepts of outstanding quality for interactive/web, print, broadcast, direct mail and other forms of promotion for agency or clients
  • Writes ads that help to build awareness of client brands, products and product benefits and help to stimulate sales
  • Oversees copy for creative product from inception to completion, ensuring superior quality
  • Researches client products and services to ensure ability to write accurate and on-target copy and concepts for projects
  • Works in conjunction with creative director to develop and maintain consistent text style templates to achieve continuity for branding strategies
  • Assures that all copy is checked and proofread at the draft and final stages of each project
  • Works to ensure copy/concepts serve the purpose of promoting the client’s brand image and selling their product or service according to the strategic creative plan
  • Assists in writing proposals, marketing plans, publicity, etc. as requested
  • Maintains current software skills compatible with the needs of other creative team members

Qualifications 

  • 2+ years’ experience in marketing or advertising agencies 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to research and interpret data around client products
  • Able to write compelling and creative copy for different mediums 
  • Comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative group environment 
  • Ag experience is an asset.
