Account Manager Jaime Webber-Young has long been an advocate for both human and animal health. “Throughout my life I have been a part of cancer research non-profits, whether it was volunteering or on staff. These experiences, and seeing my loved ones battle cancer first hand, gave me purpose and drive to bring patient advocacy into the work that I do.” She knew she wanted to find a way to include that passion in her work.
Jaime joined the WS team as an account manager in November 2018. Jaime understands that the work of marketing pharmaceutical products goes beyond sales, affecting the lives of patients and their families. That understanding is clear in the work she does for our clients, including Elanco and other healthcare clients. “Jaime’s experience in pharmaceutical marketing is invaluable to ensuring our clients’ campaigns and projects move seamlessly through the regulatory practices that are unique to the animal health industry,” says WS Director of Account Services, Shannon Anderson. “Paired with unmatched project management skills, she’s an incredible asset and partner for our clients.”
After earning her bachelor of commerce with a specialization in management from the University of Calgary, she started her career in the oil and gas sector before moving to Vancouver to work for the Canadian Cancer Society, BC Division in Revenue Development and Philanthropic Giving. It was then that the opportunity arose to take a job in Toronto, working in a pharmaceutical marketing agency, partnering with clients in oncology, ophthalmology and haematology. “It was a long road, but by making amazing connections in the various cities I have lived, I was presented with [this] opportunity,” she says. “It all connected and I cannot see myself in another line of work.” Jaime’s sense of purpose is a perfect fit for our own purposeful mission: We Solve With Soul.
Jaime’s love of animals and fierce health advocacy is a daily part of her home life as well. She lives in Calgary with her husband Scott and her beloved Australian Shepherd, Tazi. “Scott has said when he dies he hopes to be reincarnated as one of my dogs.” She spends her free time hiking in the mountains with Tazi, and staying active. The middle child of three sisters, she’s happy to have landed back in Calgary, where many of her large extended family lives. Jaime says that WS is the perfect fit for her obsession with animals and health care marketing. “I want my work to be meaningful and I want to be able to make a difference.” Join us as we welcome Account Manager Jaime Webber-Young to the WS team!
