Account Executive Kelsey MacCuaig brings agricultural public relations experience to the WS Account Service Team

Kelsey MacCuaig was drawn to the communications industry because of the diversity, both in career choices, and in the ways to communicate. “I think it’s so cool how much influence the written word can have,” she says. “It’s so fascinating to me how much we can influence how things are perceived and how people behave through communications.”  With over four years in the public relations field, including almost three years on a major agricultural account, Kelsey is excited to bring her knowledge and passion to the agriculture clients she works with at WS, including Vive Crop Protection, Alberta Beef Producers, High River Brewing Company and Arysta LifeScience.

Kelsey’s education is also diverse: with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, majoring in Public Relations, and two years of studying Journalism, she is well-equipped to help all clients at WS solve their marketing problems. “What I love about working with clients is figuring out what they need, and then figuring out how to effectively communicate that need in an innovative way,” she says. “It’s like a puzzle, and the solution is always different.” Since starting to solve puzzles at WS in February 2019, she’s found herself motivated by the drive of those around her to do their best work noting, “There’s nothing more inspiring than being surrounded by passionate people.”

When Kelsey’s not at work, she’s being inspired by different countries and cultures, travelling to as many places as she can. “I want to visit as many new places as I can. If there’s a cheap flight somewhere, I’ll book it,” she says. “Spontaneous travel is my favourite.” Her adventures not only help her recharge, but her diverse experiences also help her bring new and unique ideas to the table when she gets back to work. “The experience in PR and Agriculture that Kelsey brings to WS allows the Account Service Team to deliver a variety of expertise in one cohesive unit,” says Shannon Anderson, Director of Client Services. “This not only benefits our team, but is, ultimately, a great benefit for our clients.”
